Dr. Srđan Kondić is a proven leader in the transformation of banking institutions, renowned for his ability to stabilize, restructure, and enhance the operations of banks regardless of their ownership structure – whether they are domestic institutions or members of international banking groups. His career reflects a rare combination of regulatory experience, deep expertise in risk management, and a proven track record in strategic and operational leadership of banks. This profile makes him exceptionally successful in driving business transformation, establishing sustainable models, and increasing the market relevance of the banks he leads.
Before taking over as CEO of Addiko Bank a.d. Belgrade, Dr. Kondić served as CEO of Addiko Bank a.d. Banja Luka (a member of the international Addiko Group), as well as CEO of Nova Banka a.d. Banja Luka, a systemically important bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina under domestic ownership. In both cases, he demonstrated the necessary skills and determination to implement profound changes and lay the foundations for long-term sustainability and growth.
He began his career at the Banking Agency of the Republic of Srpska, where he was responsible, among other things, for aligning the regulatory framework with international Basel standards and relevant European directives, and represented the Agency before the European Central Bank. This experience provided him with a unique understanding of both the regulator’s perspective and the everyday challenges of banking practice – an advantage held by few leaders in the financial sector.
He holds a PhD on liquidity as a determinant of a bank’s creditworthiness, and as a senior teaching assistant at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka, he is also dedicated to the academic development of professionals in the banking sector. He has completed prestigious international training programs (ECB, IMF, Basel Committee, Joint Vienna Institute) and is a certified financial appraiser and internal auditor.
He is one of the founders of the Association of Professional Risk Managers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, President of the Employers’ Association of Banking, Financial and Insurance Organizations of the Republic of Srpska, and currently chairs the Supervisory Board of the Association of Serbian Banks.
