Prof. dr. sc. Nataša Jokić-Begić was born on August 1, 1964. She graduated in psychology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb in 1987. She also obtained her master’s degree at the same faculty, and earned her doctorate from the Medical Faculty in Zagreb in 2000. She was appointed as a full professor with tenure in 2017.
She is the Head of the Postgraduate Specialist Study in Clinical Psychology. She is actively engaged in research and clinical work in the field of clinical psychology. Her scientific interest is directed towards the study of etiological factors of anxiety, the manifestations of anxiety disorders and their treatment, as well as the psychological manifestations of stress. Recently, she has been researching the impact of the internet on the occurrence of health-related anxiety. In addition to the above, she is clinically and research-wise engaged with the phenomenon of transgenderism. She is the leader of several scientific projects and has published numerous scientific and professional papers in the field of clinical psychology. She is the author of several chapters in books and textbooks. She is a licensed cognitive-behavioral therapist. She has received multiple awards from the Croatian Chamber of Psychology and the Croatian Psychological Society. She is the President of the international association for the study of stress, trauma, anxiety, and resilience (The Stress, Trauma, Anxiety, and Resilience Society – STAR Society). She is the national representative in the European Association of Clinical Psychologists.
