Florian Pollner


Florian is a Partner in McKinsey’s office in Switzerland and leads McKinsey’s practice for people and organizational effectiveness in Switzerland. He is a co-founder of the McKinsey Academy and also leads McKinsey’s work on leadership and learning in Europe. He empowers leaders, people, and organizations to achieve sustainable results amidst today’s revolution in the workplace, talent, and technology.

For over 20 years, Florian has internationally advised clients on significant opportunities in deep operational model transformations, modernizing talent practices, strengthening performance cultures, and building modern human functions to drive this change. One of his passions is helping top teams, senior executives, and future leaders become more effective and resilient in leading transformations towards organizations that are more people-focused and high-performing.

Florian’s expertise with multinational companies is based on his extensive international experience in advising clients in over 30 countries, primarily with multinational or fast-growing companies in banking, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and insurance across Europe, the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia.

Florian has extensively published on current topics of leadership and talent, organizational transformation, modern enterprises, and the future of the human function in corporations in McKinsey Quarterly and, and has been cited among others in The Economist and Forbes Magazine. Florian is a contributor to the book “Leadership at Scale: Better Leadership, Better Results” and is researching current issues of human rights in business. Before joining McKinsey, Florian was a senior consultant at IBM Consulting Group, focused on process re-engineering and automation. Florian holds an MSc in Communication Systems (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, EPFL) and an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) and Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
